By Associated Press Viroqua— The remains of an unidentified homicide victim have been exhumed in Vernon County and sent to the State Crime Lab for analysis. The woman's body was found along a rural road near Westby in May 1984. She had been bludgeoned in the head and her hands cut from her body. Vernon County Sheriff John Spears hopes DNA testing will finally provide some answers on Jane Doe's identity.
