By of the Journal Sentinel Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge David Hansher on Friday dismissed a Social Development Commission lawsuit attempting to maintain its grip on a home energy assistance services contract it has held for 37 years. Hansher denied the county Department of Health and Human Services from awarding limited contracts of $100,000 each to Community Advocates Inc. and UMOS Inc. County Deputy Corporation Counsel Colleen Foley said the small contracts were needed to train workers from the two other groups in August and to get them started in enrolling seniors and disabled residents for financial assistance with utility bills and furnace repair costs. | Aug. 14, 2015...
